Innovation
Subject matter expertise in the healthcare domain requires unique training, skillsets and experience. Our consultant has been identified by innovators for projects related to improving the provider experience, optimizing health data reviews for more efficient workflows and incorporating new technologies into complex tasks. He helped plan major patient movement exercises during his military career. Currently, he serves as an advisor for two different AI-related grants with an active $1.2M Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research grant funded by the Air Force and a $100K grant proposal to incorporate faith-based values into how medical consent forms are reviewed in a culturally-sensitive way.

Policy
The physician perspective is critical for many organizations to function and be successful inside the healthcare ecosystem. Our consultant serves on two influential boards in Michigan related to information technology (MiHIN) and care systems improvement (Mi-CCSI). He has been asked to serve on several healthcare panels during major statewide conferences exploring the value of social influencers of health and community connections across the continuum of care.

Advocacy
Based on roles and positions around the state of Michigan, Dr. Bohnsack testified on behalf of telehealth payment parity and the formation of a health data utility. He has also served on a statewide task force charged with preventing firearm violence. Engaging with legislators and MDHHS leaders ensures they are aware of the opportunities we have for leveraging current tools and building out future platforms to maintain access and address equity for the patient populations we serve.
